When I first gave you my name
I drowned my voice with sirens —
Or maybe they were broken bells.
Violent noises, sound waves crashing in every space of my heart,
Your Voice! I followed my shape on your lips
Until I lost myself;
Alone, I heard a silence so loud it fractured my heart
Around every space I let you in.
I search the cavernous maze of my ruined organ for a sound
Of the name I gave you.
